I’ve been reading through the Psalms and I’m almost “jealous” of the manner with which the Psalmist is praising God. Praising God is something I’ve struggled with. I can’t play the flute or the harp or dance for the Lord like David did. Nor can I build a temple to God like Solomon did. I find it easy to thank God and seek out the intricacies of His Word and creation, but not with praising Him. How do you just praise the Creator of the Universe? Where do you even start?
Then it dawned on me, I start by honoring Him, by obeying Him. Each kind word, each thoughtful deed, each selfless act, honors and praises God. I do not need to sing songs of praise or write Psalms to praise God, I only need to follow Him.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
