They Don’t Make Men Like That Anymore

The Greatest Generation

They don’t make men like that anymore

those willing to lay down their lives

so that we don’t have to

They don’t make men like that anymore

those who will succeed

because they need to

for the greater good

They don’t make men like that anymore

whose devotion goes beyond

country

and family

but whose faith

can be seen visibly,

In every action

They don’t make men like that anymore

those whose innovation

shaped the world

and the future

because it was necessary

It was necessary to do what no one else

even dreamed of

They don’t make men like that anymore

who dream of wonders

while they have none

and will find a way to

not only get out of the present circumstances

but to accomplish those dreams of wonders

They don’t make men like that anymore

But then again,

Who make a man?

  1. True, “they” don’t make men like that anymore, but God does. Many men are still willing to go above and beyond for their families, homes, country and God. There are also many good women who will also do all that they have to to fulfill their roles.

  2. In this “me” generation, there still are good people willing to sacrifice what they need to to make other’s lives better – they are called good, mothers, fathers, teachers, and true Christians.

  3. I have had the pleasure of working with many of these men from past generations and I agree, they don’t make men like that anymore. We have become a “me first” generation. I love the thought of God first, others second and me third. I do believe there are still some people out there of this mentality and we must encourage and support them. Excellent writing.
